Donnie Laurens, CPM, SIOR, started his career with Fickling and Walker (now Fickling and Company) in 1978 as the purchasing agent/mail room supervisor. Within six months he was promoted to the property manager position of the commercial division. In 1982 he was promoted to leasing agent and in 1994 he was promoted to Director of Leasing Property Management In 1996 Donnie turned his focus from property management and leasing to commercial brokerage and leasing. Donnie has been the top commercial leasing agent for his company from 1982 to present. During his term as the property manager/leasing agent, Donnie was responsible for the management portfolio of 2,000,000 square feet of property in the Macon and Middle Georgia area. He also was responsible for the lease up and rehabilitation of 40,000 square feet in the BB&T Building in downtown Macon. Today the building is at 100% occupancy due to Donnie's efforts. In 1988, he represented Allstate in the leasing and development of 40,000 square feet in Perimeter Crossing in Macon of which 20,000 square feet is occupied by Allstate. Donnie was responsible for the lease up and development of new developments such as North 75 Office Park (28,000 square feet 100% leased in 6 months), Northside Square Retail Center (9,000 square feet), and BellSouth Mobility Plaza (17,000 square feet). In the fall of 1996, Donnie completed a leasing assignment for BellSouth Mobility for 22,555 square feet in the CIGNA Building in Macon. The lease was worth over 2.5 million dollars. He was also the listing agent for CIGNA to sublease approximately 40,000 square feet of office space in which he leased all 40,000 square feet in 9 months to tenants such as Merrill Lynch, Aetna and BellSouth Advertising.
Donnie Laurens also has been very instrumental in the leasing of downtown Macon properties. He had the assignment to lease approximately 20,000 square feet of office space in the Wachovia building. Today only 2,500 square feet remains vacant. He also had the assignment to lease approximately 15,000 square feet in the Rivoli Bank Building in which he leased all 15,000 square feet to Core Management, which brought over 200 jobs to the downtown area. Donnie was successful in leasing approximately 25,000 square feet of space in the Fickling & Company Building in 2000 and 2001 to such tenants as First Union Securities, East Bank Trading and several local law firms.In 2002 Donnie successfully listed and marketed Northside Square Office Park which was a 48,000 square foot office park for $2.1 million and also listed and sold a 20,000 square foot building to BB&T Insurance for $1.85 million. Donnie also successfully represented BB&T in two site selections in Macon, GA & Statesboro, GA with a total value of over $3,000,000.00. In January of, 2008 Donnie was appointed Director of the Commercial Property Management Department which has a portfolio of over 4,000,000 square feet located in the Macon & Middle Georgia area as well as St. George Island, FL. He has been a member of the Million Dollar Club for Twenty two (22) straight years, received the Eagle Award in 1995 and the Phoenix Award in 2000. He was named the Middle Georgia Association of REALTORS®, REALTOR® of the Year in 1995. Donnie also received his CPM designation in 1985 and his SIOR designation in 1995.
